Seal Coating

Seal coating is one of the most important elements of a pavement management plan. Plus, it makes asphalt more visually appealing.

Pavement sealing is used to protect off-highway pavement surfaces against gasoline, oil, salt, water, and ultraviolet rays.

Asphalt sealer acts as a waterproofing agent, minimizing the rate at which water enters the pavement. Without it, water can seep into the pavement more freely resulting in freeze/thaw expansion and contraction of the pavement. Seal coating every 2-4 years will significantly increase the life of your pavement, maximizing the life of your investment.

HSC has the capability to apply sealer by squeegee and by spray. For unsealed asphalt, we recommend one squeegee coat, followed by a spray coat. The heavy squeegee coat fills the pores of the pavement, while the spray coat leaves a smooth, visually appealing finish. In cases where the pavement is exceptionally rough, squeegeeing may not be possible.
